Like most of you, I am thrilled that Christmas is approaching! One of the things I love at this time of year is how beauty brands compile their best products into affordable gift sets for Christmas! The following are my top picks I have found so far. They are not in any particular order. Enjoy!

Bobbi Brown Party Eye Palette $45

These Party Eye Palettes are sold separate, but as you can see they come in cool and warm colors. The top palette is called Cool Party Eye Palette. Found at Sephora.

Fresh Sugar Lip Duo $22.50

One of my good friends gave me the Sugar Rose lip balm for my birthday and I became instantly hooked! These are definitely the best lip balms I have ever tried. This set is great to test out two of their colors. They are definitely worth the price. Found at Fresh boutiques, Sephora

Burberry Brit Sheer Gift Set $82

I am a lover of Burberry fragrances, especially Burberry Brit Sheer; it is feminine and youthful. Found at Sephora.

L'Occitane Hand Indulgences $26

This set of luxurious hand lotions are in Shea Desert Rose, Shea Hibiscus, and Shea Cocoa Flower. I love L'Occitane's lotions--they feel so good!

Laura Mercier The Nudes Mini Lip Glace Set $38

If you know someone who has a little obsession with lip glosses, this set would be an excellent present, or even to gift separately to friends. Found at Sephora.

Chanel 2011 Fall RTW

Hmm. I think Bram Stoker has shown some significant influence in this collection. Chanel mixes some classic coat and slack outfits with some dark grungy ones. I was surprised when Chanel introduced capes, but I don't think they will catch on. I wasn't exactly thrilled by this rockerish style, but I do like dark colors like black and charcoal for winter. The show had an awesome set design as always; it was almost like the models were journeying on an intrepid quest. [Click on image below to enlarge picture.]

John Galliano 2011 Fall RTW

I thought this show was just interesting and intriguing. The first thing I thought of when I viewed this collection was that it would be an excellent wardrobe for a movie with colorful characters. I think it impersonates a wealthy french woman who doesn't care about work and just wants to play dress up in her chateau, hmm.. kind of like Marie Antoinette. This collection also has strong ties to the Roaring 20's era with short bobs and long, lanky dresses. The show was very interesting to watch.

Au revoir Galliano

You have probably heard, John Galliano has officially been booted out of the House of Dior as of March 1st due to a drunken anti-Semitic rant and criticism of Natalie Portman. Dior decided not to take any risks and dismiss him from the company. He is a walking character and never ceases to bore his audience. His designs are inventive and added imagination to the fashion industry. Galliano, you will be missed at Dior, but for the meantime, get yourself some help.

Prada 2011 Spring RTW: Disastrous Aesthetics

I don't know about you, but I've never seen anything so excruciating to the eyes than the Prada spring collection. It's like hospital meets halloween with an intense pallette of orange, blue, green, and black. However, I will give Miuccia Prada credit for developing a creative, funky selection of shoes for this show. I wonder what Tim Gunn would say about this...

Byzantine Empress: Chanel 2011 Pre-Fall Collection

I have never seen anything like it. Lagerfeld's Pre-Fall Collection is like a whisper of the grandeur from Emperor Justinian and Empress Theadora's reign over the Byzantine Empire. Although a bit costume-like, his clothes tell a story that could be more enjoyable to watch, than to wear. No doubt, Lagerfeld creatively crafted a show that is original and mystical.

These next looks contain a perfect dose of the Byzantine inspiraton to make them wearable for the everday, city girl.

I was reading through some articles on newsweek.com for school, and I happened to stumble upon an interesting one about the ethnicity of high fashion models. The author reflects upon the fact that designers tend to choose a group of similar looking models for their shows and advertisements. Although this does not apply to every luxury fashion house, "it may take as long for a minority model to become the "face" of Dolce & Gabbana as it took for a black thespian to win the Academy Award for best actress."

It's a story as common as it is familiar in the fashion industry: a young man flies to New York seeking his fortune in one of the world's preeminent fashion capitals. A tall and striking ethnic mix of black, white, and Latino, with blue eyes, light skin, and brown-auburn ringlets falling to his shoulders, he hopes to make it as a model. But every agency tells him some variation on "we already have one like you." Apparently, the fashion industry has room for only one "exotic" model at a time. The young man later decides to abandon modeling as a career.

Minority models continue to face high odds in their efforts to scratch a good living from fashion. Many designers and labels, from big-name Italy-based conglomerates like Prada to such home-grown powerhouses as Donna Karan, round up the usual prospects when runway season comes around. As for appearing in ad campaigns, the sort of work that lands a model in the glossy pages of Vogue, GQ, Elle, W, Details, and other magazines—and where the big money is made—it may take as long for a minority model to become the "face" of Dolce & Gabbana as it took for a black thespian to win the Academy Award for best actress.

Photo: Preparations backstage at Gucci’s spring 2011 runway show included mounting photos of the models—a couple of them minority—who were to appear on the catwalk. First off, please forgive me for being so inconsistant in my blogging. School has been quite busy, and it is difficult to find time, even though I wish to write about countless things.

I decided to start off my spring series with Marchesa. I love her style because it has a sweet, delicate touch. Spring is softening up with whites, lace, drappings, and of course pastels. Marchesa particularly emphasizes embellishments and structured wear.
I think the collection turned out beautifully and portrays an essense of feminity.

First Takes on Sephora Mini Slurge

Hey, so I had a mini splurge at Sephora to pick up some new beauty goodies.

First off, I'm trying a new cleanser because my other one SUCKED. (It was the Murad Acne Kit) Don't get it, it will make your face acne worse.

So, I decided to try Murad Vitalic Energizing Pomegranate Cleanser and Murad Energizing Pomegranate Moisturizer SPF 15 - 2 fl oz.

First take on cleanser: Very lightly fragranced and foamy.

First take on moisterizer: A bit oily because sunscreen SPF 15 is one of its ingredients, also non fragrant.

I will gladly update you guys on how that works out for me.

Secondly, I got a product I always have wanted to try! The Philosophy Senorita Margarita Shower Gel 16oz. I'm so excited because it doesn't smell exactly like lime... its smells like a margarita! So add a little bit of rock salt and delve into a delicious bath experience!

First take: Fun and lightly scented.

Papow! This new Nars eyeshadow is HOT. Purple and plum shadows are definitely going to be IN this fall. The greatest thing about purple eyeshadow is it can be applied on any eye color; especially flattering green and brown eyes. Even if you don't want to go all out with this deep violet on the lid, it can be quite functional just to apply on the rim of the bottom eyelid (over or instead of eyeliner) to have that pop of color and enliven the casual, everday look.

I am truely in love with Kat Von D's True Romance eye shadow palettes. I bought the True Love palette last Christmas and I'm still using it! The colors are pigmented, and the quality is superb. She recently released her newest palette called "Adora" [picture below]. This set is a spectrum of silvers and whites to black, wine/marron, and charcoal. I think these colors are absolutely great for smokey eyes in especially fall. I can't wait to get my hands on this one! You can find Kat Von D cosmetics only at Sephora stores.

I recently attended the Lady Gaga Monster Ball with one of my good friends. We had a great time, and luckily got an incredible spot in the pit! [Only two people were in front of us!] Being a Catholic, I did see some things that really pushed my buttons. For example, the angel statue on fire and her transparent nun costume. She also recited "prayers" during the concert saying she is a religious woman...I beg to differ. Anyways, I must say her concert seemed more like a Vegas show, rather than an actual concert. So now please indulge yourself in some GAGAlicious pictures!

Please don't judge my face; it was windy. XD

Yes, you do see sparks flying from her chest and crotch.

Delicate as a Flower

I watched the Chanel, Valentino, and Givenchy Fall Couture shows, but I was especially swept away by Dior. John Galliano created gowns clearly inspired by beautiful flowers. I think every dress was put together in a bouquet collection that was awe-stricken. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Murad Acne Starter Kit

Marion Cotillard is not only a shining star in her movies, but as well as on the cover of Vogue Magazine. Being a young, French actress, she embodies elegance and grace. Below are some pictures in the July edition of Vogue.

Resort 2011 Collage P1

There are many different trends for the resort season in 2011 such as prints, animalistic, cocktail, feminine 50s fashions, retro, lace, neons and brights, nautical, simplicity, and so much more.

Badgley Mischka-(1) I love all the intricate detail of this red carpet styled gown. Its fit and stunning blue color makes it fresh and definititely interesting.

Balenciaga-(2) Oh, when I was looking for some adventurous fashions in the resort collections, Balenciaga never fails me. I must admit, i really like those shoes. They are bold and unique. I love the combination of blue with greens.

Bottega Veneta-(3) That blue is rockin. And I love the matching color bag! I'm such a huge fan of Bottega handbags and totes and I really wish I had one. They are perfect for casual looks and this cerulean blue just adds some spice.

J. Mendel-(4) Ah, I fell in love with this dress. I mean HELLO its super romantic and sexy at the same time...beautiful peek-a-boo lace at chest. Well done.

Tory Burch- (5,7) Now, before you ask yourself, "WHOA WHAT ISLAND DID YOU COME FROM?!?" take a second to look at all the details. The shoes are a combination of space boots and uggs. Eh, she kinda looks like marshmellow feet if you ask me. I posted theses specifically to show the detailed patterns that are going to be popular.

Lela Rose-(6) The simplicity and coloring make this outfit. The purple-ish blue skirt is just adorable with the black and white pattern, structrued top. Multicolored, tribal-like necklace ties in the whole outfit.

Nina Ricci-(8) This is an ultra girly, preppy, and rich look by Nina Ricci. If you cannot tell, the dress is made up of lace and is paired with some rocking feminine wedges.

Proenza Schouler-(9) Again, bold colors matched with diverse patterns. The striped shorts, patterned blazer, and lime green bag...I don't think I would've ever put that together.

Celine-(10) I like this because it is a very sleek, sophisticated look. If you know me, I am not a fan of the brown color family, but this is an exception. I believe it has a comfortable balance of color, and I love the wide leg trousers.

Chanel Fall RTW 2010

So I'm pretty sure Peta is having a stroke from the Chanel fashion show for Fall 2010 RTW and Anna Wintour is throwing a party. All I can say is FUR! Although the collection was reaping luxury and money, I'm not a fan of fur and never have been. Nevertheless, Karl Lagerfeld proved he still has the fashion world wrapped around his finger.

Bring on the Heat

After spending a lot of time in winter drab, it is finally the perfect chance to turn into fab! I have been spending some time thinking about what challenges I am going do this summer. Here is a list of goals every fashionista wannabe should do.

1. RELAX
Spend some time to breathe and enjoy the sun and learn to love yourself body and soul.

2. TAN
A summer glow doesn't hurt anyone, but put sunscreen on your face so you won't get freckles and wrinkles! Remember a pale face is always a beautiful one! (Bronzer can take care of the pale part!) Perfect skin is important to stunning pictures.

3. CHANGE YOUR FRAGRANCE
Swap your winter fragrance for a summer fragrance. Yes, there is such thing as a winter and a summer aromas. Winter perfumes are heavier or could be described as woody, oriental, or spicy, whereas summer fragrance can be fresh, citrus, or fruity. (Floral perfumes are classic of course, but more suited for spring.) By the way, don't be shy about trying out a new perfume, get one that makes you feel energetic and alive!
Some fragrances I recommend for summer are Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue [one of my personal favorites!] ($85), Burberry Sport ($78), and Ralph by Ralph Lauren ($65).

4. GET IN SHAPE
It's time to get in the best shape of your life! I really need to work hard in this category. Everyone knows summer is bikini season and who wants to see someone in a bikini with the curves in the wrong places?

5. TRY SOMETHING NEW
I've decided to challenge myself and all the other book haters in the world to actually read a book this summer for enjoyment. These words seem painful to me, but I think it would be an interesting goal. And for all you readers...Go watch a good movie! (:

6. BRIGHTEN YOUR SMILE
Radiant smiles are always "in"so cut back on the tea, coffee, and dark-colored sodas and whiten up your teeth. White strips can be splotchy, so watch out if you dare to use them.

Bath Time Favorites

So I was laying down thinking about what I should blog about, and it just occured to me to write about my favorite bath products.

Fresh, Clean, Citrus

First off, If you like a lime fragrance or tropical margarita type scent...This is the shower gel for you! I love the L'Occitane [Lime] Verbana Harvest Shower Gel. ($20 @ Sephora). I would describe it as clean and refreshing. Fragrance is light but stays.

Romantic, Floral, Luxurious

Second, I love love love Jo Malone bath oil. [I might of already written a post about this product, but I can't remember.] It's called Jo Malone Red Roses Bath Oil . ($60 @ Neiman Marcus) (You cannot find this product at Sephora; only Neimans, Saks, the Jo Malone store, or any other store that sells luxury beauty products) The fragrance is absolutely stunning and isn't fake-like. When you smell it, you literally feel like your sticking your nose in a bouquet of roses. (It is, by the way, made from seven different types of roses from around the world.) And the fragrance lasts a long time on your skin. Anyways, consider it. It's amazing (:

MAC SPREE! ....well kinda

Okay, so this Christmas I took a little trip to Mac and bought blush and a brush! It works so wonderfully; I'm so happy with it (:

The Blush is MAC in "Dollymix" and is a bright pink and a slightly coral color; perfect for my skin tone. I'll post swatch pics later, or remind me to. BY THE WAY: do not trust the color on the website in the little color boxes. They are NOT reliable because Dollymix looks completely different from the website.

And I finally bought the famous MAC 187 Duo Fibre Brush ($42). I LOVE ITT! So definitely worth it!! (:

Lola by Marc Jacobs Fragrance. I love Marc Jacobs, and I love his perfume; especially his brand new Lola scent. 3.4 ounce is $85 and 1.7 for $65. Again, Neiman Marcus is my favorite place ever, so gift cards from there will definitely be used.

Nars Duo Eyeshadow Pallete in "Paris". This is perfect for this year's makeup looks. It comes with two colors, a silver shimmer, and a matte gray! What I've been looking forr! I've stalked this pallete for a longg time. I'm not sure why I never got it. I love it so dearly! You can find this at Sephora for $32.

I just bought the Tresemme Heat Protection spray this weekend, and it already is working like a miracle. Use it before curling/straightening your hair to keep your hair none frizzy and healthy. I even spray some of it all over my hair before blow drying, it makes my hair touchably soft and fresh. I love the fine mist texture of the spray too. Very easy to use, works geniusly. (:

You can buy this product at places like Walmart, Target, or any drugstore for an average price of $4.75. It's well worth it.

I'm putting myself on a mission to get healthier and feel the best that I've ever had. I'm learning how to improve certain areas in my life, and to balance all my activities and focuses in the following areas:

1. Spirituality- Focusing on being a servant of God and following His commands. I'm going to put more action in putting Jesus first in my life before everything else.

2. Mind- Improving my mental health by staying optimistic about life. A good spiritual life improves your mind/ mental health.

3. Body- Getting in shape! It's time to work those thighs and start looking good. Dramatic weight loss is not my plan, rather to eat healthier and exercise daily. Yoga is one of my favorite ways to get toned and feel fresh.

4. Relationship- Improve friend and family relationships. Learn to forgive and help people. Be a more compassionate and loving person.

5. Work- Try to improve in school, but not let it completely rule over my life.

Balance...lets try to make it happen.

These are my favorite leave in conditioners; and I’ve tired a lot. If you aren’t using a leave in conditioner, you need to it makes all the difference.

1. Biolage Hydra Seal Leave In Creme(about $13-$16 is a luxurious moisturizer for your hair. It’s amazingly smooth and leaves your hair noticeably soft when it dries. It moisturizes and controls frizz. This is definitely my favorite if you are looking for soft, touchable, healthy hair.

2. Bed Head Ego Boost (about $15) is a great leave in conditioner and amazing split end mender. Plus it comes in a really cute bottle. It moisturizes hair and gives it some shine. I recommend this for those looking to fix split ends and want maximum shine and smoothness.

3. Sunsilk Hyrda TLC 24/7 Creme ($5) is a great leave in conditioner if you want to go the cheaper route. It’s a really good hair moisurizter/ leave in conditoner that will leave your hair feeling soft and not sticky or clumpy. Even though its cheap it works really well. This product is great for those looking for softer, silky, smoother hair and repair damage. You can buy this product at walmart/target/ or drugstores.

How do I use this stuff?
Directions: After showering pump a few pumps of product (depending on how thick or long your hair is) and massage through hair. Focusing on dry parts such as ends of hair. You do not need to blow dry it in, it will not be clumpy or sticky. However if you are blowdrying, it will not do anything bad.
